Castell d-Emporda in Costa Brava, Spain

On top of a hill overlooking the enchanting Emporda region sits this restored castle. An architectural gem, now converted into a unique and stylish four-star hotel with 35 high standard rooms and a fantastic restaurant.The castle was once owned by Pere Margarit, a captain who served under Christopher Columbus. Each room has been decorated in its own style using Indian silks, furniture from Italy, Morocco and China, a strange twist of Catalan ambience and eastern decor! Every room has a spectacular view over the rural countryside. The restaurant serves dishes made from the Castle-s very own gardens or from nearby farms, markets and fishing villages. This is not really a hotel in the sense of the word, it is a converted castle that captures the essence of all that’s good in Catalan culture.

The hotel is located 30 minutes from Girona Airport, which is roughly a two-hour flight from various major European airports.
