In the 18th century
Reus was the international centre for the liquor
trade, and also the birth place of the inspired genius of
‘Gaudi’. Along with London and
Paris, Reus was once considered one of the
major capital cites in Europe. When you visit you
will discover both its rich heritage and the liveliness of
its varied shopping streets. The town has over two thousand
shops, of which half are in the historic town centre. At the
beginning of the 20th the century many great new buildings
were erected, which now make Reus a major centre of modernistic
as well as traditional architecture. |
