Opened in 1999 and designed by Jordi Peix, the Golf p&p Gualta offers us a
new golf course concept within the beautiful Empordà region. Defined as
a PAR 3 of short distances, the 18 hole course is a golfers’ delight, with
bunkers, lakes and large greens it provides a challenge for players of all levels,
ages and abilities. The front nine holes lie within woods of home oak and pine
trees which wonderfully separate one fairway from the other. The back nine holes
are type links except for the last three which run alongside the River Ter, allowing
the tall riverside woods to come into play. Three lakes intervene in eight holes
and five tricky bunkers protect different course greens, waiting for anyone to
fail his shot while aiming at the pin. Depending on the flag position, straight
hitting is definitely rewarded. Thanks to the region’s mild climate, the
course is kept in excellent conditions and playable the whole year around.
Leaving the green of the 18th hole, you pass right in front of the spacious Clubhouse,
perfectly integrated in its natural surroundings. What better than a nice drink
after that round of golf on the sun terrace, offering you excellent panoramic
views over the course.
In harmony with the course design, the extensive range facilities allow the practise
of all game aspects. A large pergola covers and illuminates the majority of the
play off mats, allowing for practise independent of the weather conditions. Be
it too sunny, a bit rainy or even getting dark, there’s no room for excuses!
All in all, one realises that the club’s facilities aim at making your stay
as pleasant, comfortable and unique as possible.
